Blue Light Blockers

Light is composed of electromagnetic radiation, which is an invisible form of energy. Blue light is a high energy portion of the visible light spectrum (460nm) that has a number of biological effects on alertness, hormone production, and sleep-cycles. Over-exposure to blue wavelength light (from digital devices and artificial light, such as LEDs and fluorescent lights) has been proven to suppress the body’s production of melatonin, which is a hormone that prepares us for sleep.

Some symptoms of too much blue light exposure include eye strain, visual stress, and difficulty getting to sleep.

The most effective way to reduce exposure to blue light is to simply turn off the sources. This means dimming or reducing LED and fluorescent lighting, and turning off electronic devices after it gets dark outside. However, this is easier said than done in this technologically advanced world, and therefore wearing glasses with a TrueBlue coating may be helpful in reducing the exposure.

Not all blue-light coatings are created equal!

Our TrueBlue coating is a premium and highly transparent coating that provides an eye care solution for electronic device users. The aim is to protect the eyes from excess blue light emitted from digital devices, and safeguards the sleep cycle while offering improved aesthetics and visual comfort.
